The Radio Hour tells the story of Nora (played by Lisa Lovett), a middle-aged woman having a very bad day. She seeks solace by locking herself inside her apartment and turning on the radio. The choir is split in two at the beginning, one choir representing Nora’s inner voice. The other choir creates the radio show, opening a portal into the radio and guiding Nora to make the choice to connect and become joyful, youthful and energized again. The music explores a wonderful variety of textures, colors and sounds: traffic noise, swing tunes, radio ads, a quasi-rap song, big band, a touch of 12-tone music, and finally a full, celebratory flowering of grand choral singing!
